Patient tells Ontario inquest Heather Winterstein was on floor 'crying in pain' in hospital ER on day she died
A coroner’s inquest examining the circumstances of Heather Winterstein’s death from sepsis in a St. Catharines, Ont., hospital continues today. It is being held virtually.
Winterstein, 24, died in the hospital on Dec. 10, 2021, after waiting hours to get help for pain from a fall. She had already been in the hospital the previous day for severe body pain, but the ER doctor who assessed her ruled out an infection.
