It's not well understood in the 21st century that Ascorbate, or ore colloquially "Vitamin C" has a curative effects on snakebite but t does indeed work. Time is of the essence. Robert Klenner, MD di the seminal work here in the 1940s and documented this a couple of times. Ascorbate is far better tolerated than antivenom which by itself produced life threatening side effects.
