"98% of scientists say it's warming"

No, 87% of 75 scientists getting global warming grants from politicians were polled and 73 of the agreed AGW was real.

A larger survey found 51% of scientists believed AGW was real. If 1% believed it was real and 99% believe the opposite (or vice versa) then that would be near unanimous consensus. Perfect disagreement would be 50% in favor and 50% opposed.

Again, 51% of scientists believe AGW is real and the claim this is settled science is unequivocally false, it's a close to perfect indecision as you can get for any reasonable value of epsilon.

What about Freeman Dyson's assertion they don't now what they're talking about? Either way consensus does not equal truth; never mistake truth for consensus. The numbers show he's not wrong and he's arguably the worlds most accomplished scientist and has studied climate a decade longer than the IPCC has existed. Trivia: the dimensional drive for the spaceship used in the popular science fiction show Doctor Who is technically called a Dyson Sphere.

"97%+ of geologists agreed the continents were stable. It was Settled Science. Hundreds of research papers supported it. Overwhelming consensus. And wrong. And, oddly (not really, if you think about it a moment), it was not a geologist but a meteorologist, Alfred Wegener, who ultimately showed all the mutually agreeing geologists they had it all wrong; the continents move." - Dr. Michael K.
